    How Fundraising Works

  • You select one of our listed organizations or submit your favorite organization (cause) for listing on the website. Causes can be submitted by someone representing the organization or by a supporter of an organization who becomes a member of ShopsThatGive. Any beneficial organization may be submitted. Offensive organizations will not be listed on this site.

  • Stores that agree to donate have links on the website. The links for each store indicates the percentage of the sales that will be donated to our member's favorite cause.

  • Online shoppers who visit the website may choose your cause as the beneficiary of their internet shopping. Once listed, an organization can maximize donations by asking all of their supporters to start their Internet shopping at

  • Causes can place a link to on their website. Causes should also tell people as part of any mailings to their supporters. provides banners and links to add to websites as well as flyers and sample letters to include in mailings to supporters of your cause.

  • When you and other supporters shop on the internet, use the links to the stores from the website. Stores donate the indicated percentage of each sale to your cause. collects the donations from the various stores and sends them to your organization in the name of the member who made the purchase. Payments are made within a few weeks after the funds are received from the stores. Stores may pay in monthly or quarterly installments.
